Matthew Orwat is the Horticulture Extension Agent for Washington County Florida. His goal is to provide educational programming to meet the diverse needs of and provide solutions for home owners that garden with ornamentals, fruits and vegetables. He also works to provide small fruit and vegetable farmers and nursery producers with production related solutions. Please contact him for further information.

Citrus Greening Seminar Monday April 10th, 6pm

Event will be April 10th, at the Holmes County Ag Center. Citrus Greening has been identified in the Florida Panhandle Coastal Region and confirmed to be present in isolated locations. This educational seminar will assist local residential and commercial citrus producers in becoming aware of the spread and scope of this disease.

Spring Into Gardening February 2, 7 and 16

This class series, throughout the month of February seeks to instruct home gardeners, landscapers and small farmers on turf management, fruit production and vegetable production with a special emphases on comparing traditional chemical and natural pest management strategies.
